Vamvakou Lakonia Agricultural Cooperative

The Agricultural Cooperative of Vamvakou, named “Parnon Poèma”, was founded in 2021, following the collaboration and connection among various local producers and livestock breeders in the wider area of Vamvakou and Mount Parnon, in order to create a basket of local traditional products of high quality and unique taste. The Cooperative consists of five (5) groups of producers: livestock breeders, beekeepers, walnuts & chestnuts producers, olive growers and medicinal and aromatic plant growers. The association is certified by ISO 22000:2018.

And what about our name? The word Parnon refers to Mount Parnon and the word Poèma refers to the products as such, as creations and poems of nature, or, metaphorically, as exceptional pieces or masterpieces. In fact, etymologically, in Latin, the word poièma/poèma is used to illustrate the creation of the world and its characteristics, the power of nature and of the elements around us, while, according to the Ephesians, poem is the work of God, the creation of the world.

Products that are sourced from Mount Parnon and Vamvakou, a once-sleepy village in Laconia that is now reawakening, these products are crafted with love, care, and respect for the people and land.
People with passion and love for their origins, who are looking for new opportunities, join forces, become one, act collectively, envision a better future for the Greek provinces and are going back to working with the land to create exceptional products on Mount Parnon, so as to keep the region alive and be able to live there, by bringing out the best it is generously offering to them.
